As I sit and watch what is going on in other countries of the World, I cannot help but to wonder, why are we so far behind many of the other countries of the World when it comes to technology?

Here is a case in point, Augmented Reality. I have seen and heard about this over in England. Check out Socialnomic blog post Augmented Reality Videos: GM & London Tube. Great technology, and yes GM is in this country, but why isn’t there more of this going on when it is so prevalent in other countries?

I attended a webinar last week about cross-media marketing. It was very interesting and I learned about QR codes. Turns out that almost everyone in Japan is using them. Most smartphone users in Japan have a barcode app that comes standard on their smart phones. When you find a product, advertisement, or mail piece with a desired product, you take a picture of the QR code and it takes you to a landing page with info on the product. It is finally starting to make its way here to the U.S.
