Well, since being laid off a month ago, I have had interesting dealings with Weber and Judd at Hy Vee Barlow. For almost the last two years we have been getting our prescriptions from Hy Vee Barlow (Weber & Judd) and they have been on my Crenlo insurance. I was paying around $20 -$25 as was my wife per prescription. We did also elect to pay for the Mayo family insurance all this time as well. So now, since the lay off, we only have the Mayo coverage as I was no longer covered under Crenlo.

This morning I drove my wife down to pick up her prescription and she was shocked that they said it would be well over $50 through the Mayo insurance. When she questioned the cost she was greeted with a rude response and told there was nothing that the person could do. Two weeks prior I had the same experience filling my prescription.

My wife had another prescription that she needed to pick up at Hy Vee South, so we then went there for that. She was equally surprised when the prescription was only $15. Now I understand that different drugs are different prices, but to vary by $35 was a little extreme.

We are currently working with Hy Vee Barlow to resolve any questions about inacurate charges from the pharmacy. A little frustrating with the lay off and being so tight with money and then to have people just double charging you on top of everything else. I am expecting a return call from the Hy Vee Barlow Manager tomorrow after she talks with the pharmacy.

After all this took place before 11am on a Sunday morning, I checked my email and found an email from a friend with a hilarious movie clip from the old Ma & Pa Kettle movies. Check it out below…. it’s great. (especally after the morning we had)
