Well, Crenlo laid off another 55 hourly employees yesterday. These are sad times indeed. It is so hard to deal with the loss of livelyhood and the sense of rejection that comes from a lay off.

I know that I was upset about what to do to make ends meet, but I felt a sort of rejection from the situation as well. The projects that I was working on had to be abandoned in just a few minutes. As I stood at my desk, trying to pack up everything that it took years to accumulate, I felt shock as I looked at my desk with all these projects. How could I convey where everything was at, what needed to be done and any issues that stood in the way. It was like everything I had been doing was suddenly unimportant. That really left me feeling empty.

To those recently displaced, I am truly sorry for your situation. We all need to have faith and hang in there. Remain hopeful, stay connected and try to laugh as much as you can. We will come out on the other side of this situation stronger. It does not feel that way now, but when we look back, we will remember this as our finest hour. Just as Apollo 13 was considered as a “Successful Failure”, this too will not defeat us!
