Browsing Posts in My Life

Checkout this great post from Faster Future Publishing Blog explaining why all the sharing on social media needs to be done with understanding of what is being shared, who is sharing it, and what precautions should be taken.

Remember that once something is shared on any social networking platform (Facebook, twitter, foursquare, ect..) it can not be erased or taken back. You can delete it from the original source (your facebook wall), but the syndication to other networks has already taken place. After all, this is all designed to push whatever you are posting out to as many people as possible. My point? Be careful what you share because it will be there forever!

One other topic to consider is which people you allow into your networks. In the rush to get the most followers, are you letting a stalker into your personal social media life? No way to tell, so choose your friends carefully.

Faster Future published a great post explaining some of the more elusive concepts of sharing personal, geo-locating information over a social network. This includes posts you make about yourself, as well as, post that you make about others’. Something to think about.

This title may make you wonder if I am typing in a different language, but I am not. I just found my most favorite instrumental (Theme) music on youtube and wanted to share it here. It is called Vltava (Moldau) and it is the story of the river Moldau from it’s start up in the mountains, traveling through peasant farm fields, a peasant wedding, night fairies, the St. Johns Rapids, and then out to the sea. If you listen you can hear the different parts very distinctly. What a wonderful piece of music! Even more impressive to watch. Check out both the videos below. continue reading…

Have you ever really needed something to work, and to work fast, only to have it slow down or break? It has been my experience that the more you need something to work, the more it slows down or stops altogether.

My boss just showed me something funny from the Insterter Parts Source site that I just had to share. Here is the warning that I thought was just hilarious:

I found this image on the Intercristo blog and thought it was worth sharing. This image is a great representation of the differences and complexities between men and women. The blog article is just about how different generations relate in the world. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy your time with family and friends!

I am not one to promote a company or corporation, especially not an insurance company, but I saw this commercial for the first time last night and thought I would share this. In these trying times, it is nice to see that someone, somewhere, can see what is truly important.

I realize that these are commercials specifically designed to evoke an emotion, but I like to let these types of commercials inspire and motivate me to appreciate the truly important things in life.

Here is an entertaining little clip. Math is not my favorite, but this is my kind of math. Watch this to get a good chuckle:

Here is another one that I found a long time ago, same principle. I am dating myself, but I my parents use to watch this when I was growning up. They were great. Enjoy!

Remember: it is important to laugh once in a while.

Here is a post that I received from a good friend that is the founder of The Worklife Group in Rochester Minnesota. It gives great advice to people seeking employment who have to answer the question, “So tell me about yourself?” We have all experienced the business end of this question, but here is some good advice on how to answer that question professionally. Tell me about yourself

This article was posted on the Tech Careers site, which looks like it could be very helpful with unemployment and career resources. Check it out and let me know what you find out.

While doing homework for my science class, I found this useful site on Green Energy Resources:

Department of Energy Green Energy Resources

It lists all the different possible green energy resources available with numerous links to some very useful and educational sites as well. There are many videos and illustrations to view, all done very simply and to the point. Check this out and let me know what you think about this or if you have more information to share. This is a learning process for me and I welcome any input.

I had the opportunity to thoroughly test drive the video capabilities of my new iPhone 3GS this last sunday. I was at my son’s marching band practice and I did several short recordings. As the morning practice progressed the band came to a point where they did the entire routine (11mins and 30secs long). I was able to record this with no issues or hitches.

My shorter videos that I recorded earlier were able to upload just fine and the longer ones uploaded as well, they just took longer. I immediately took the videos down as I found out that the band did not want any of these up for outsiders to view.

Long story short, my iPhone performed outstandingly. I was very impressed that it could do such long recordings and the uploads for videos was a little slow, but that is a lot of data.
